The first playground we are highlighting in our new weekly series showcasing our favorite Takoma Park and Silver Spring playgrounds is Evans Parkway Neighborhood Park. Located in a neighborhood just off of Georgia Avenue, this park is full of surprises. Start off by finding the echo center in the mini amphitheater right next to the playground. Then listen as your voice carries throughout the playground. Take a walk past several art installations on the paved walking trail. Play a game of basketball or tennis or just run through the field to search for flowers.

The playground boasts a super tall – and fast – slide, and several grassy hills to run up and roll down. There is a mini maze to sprint through, and a modern (and safer) merry-go-round so you can spin until you get dizzy. This playground also has a big covered picnic pavilion if you want to bring a lunch with you or escape from the sun on a summer day.
