Highlighting our favorite area playgrounds

This playground, hidden in the Forest Estates neighborhood, just off of Georgia Avenue, is worth finding if you can! It was redone within the last year and has a good mix of big kid and little kid entertainment.

There is a spinning rope cage and a big climbing formation for bigger kids. The smaller kids will enjoy a bouncy structure, a tunnel to climb through and a few smaller slides.

One of our favorite things at the park is a tandem swing: put your baby in the baby swing and then a big sibling (or you!) can swing along with him or her on the attached seated swing.

The park also has a covered gazebo, a walking trail around the perimeter of the park, many picnic tables, tennis courts, a big open field, and even a handicap accessible port-a-potty on site. All these amenities make General Getty a good place to have a playdate or afternoon family picnic.
