This playground, walking distance to Downtown Silver Spring, has a wide variety of equipment to entertain both bigs and littles. One section has towering slides, 3-D rock climbing structures, spinny rides, and a rope walkway.

The other is better for the smaller set, with plenty for a younger child to climb on and enjoy. It has a teeter-totter, smaller slides and a rope ladder to climb.

An added bonus is that this playground is right next to the Ellsworth Dog Park, so when the kids get bored, they can go watch the dogs run around (from outside the pup park, of course).

While the equipment itself is not in much shade, there are a good amount of shaded benches where onlookers can sit. There are also a few tables if you decide to bring a picnic to enjoy after playing.
