Sligo-Bennington Neighborhood Park is in a neighborhood just over the bridge off of a section of Sligo Creek Parkway. It is a sprawling playground with three separate climbing structures, three banks of swings, and lots of natural surfaces to play on, as well. We can easily spend hours here, and it helps that there is a good amount of shade and lots of different activities to keep kids of all ages busy.

My kids particularly love the old wood-and-metal playground that has a tire swing, gymnastics rings, and a twisty slide that shoots kids out faster than today's modern playground designers would likely deem safe. We call it the rocket slide because of its speed.

There are two plastic playgrounds that are a bit more little-kid friendly, with smaller slides, climbing ladders, and a bouncy bridge. The kids also love that there are enough swings for everyone to soar at the same time–6 baby swings and 6 big kid swings throughout the park!

Additionally, there is a huge tree-filled field to run in that is particularly picturesque in the fall, and big rocks to climb on (and jump off). And if you have time, take a walk along the Sligo Creek natural trail besides the park. We especially love exploring the creek and throwing stones into the water in shallow areas.
