This playground is right on Dale Drive on the other side of the creek from Sligo Creek Parkway. We call this playground the Pirate Ship Park, well, because of the big pirate ship in the middle of the blue turf. The ship has a wheel to steer, a slide, and ladders to climb. There was also a hornet nest attached to one of the sails when we went in early August, and while the hornets didn't bother us, be sure to watch out for stingers!

The other main attraction at this park is the huge rope climbing structure. When we went, we were the only ones at the park, so my three-year-old loved climbing as far as she could go. But when there are lot of big kids at the park, the ropes and flat rubber surfaces between them can get a little bouncy. There is also a shark-themed jumper, swings, a tall rotating spinner, and a metal zipline.

Because this playground is right on the trail of Sligo Creek, there are lot of dogs walking by and a little path down to the water. We climbed some big rocks, threw stones in the creek, and watched a pup take a bath in the water when we visited. There's good shade for much of the day, but right in the middle of the day, sun beats down from the break in the trees.
