We recently visited this new-to-us playground located near the New Hampshire Avenue end of Sligo Creek Parkway, and my kids are already asking when we can go back. It's not fancy or full of new equipment, but it has just the right amount of unique features that the kids were easily entertained for over an hour.
During our adventures, we are always on the lookout for monkey bars, and this playground didn't disappoint. Not only does it have monkey bars, but they descend from high to low and double as a bridge that you can walk across when there's no one on the bars below. There's also an elliptical ladder that can double as low monkey bars in another section of the playground.
The high slide is fast and bumpy and there is a single-rider spinner that my preschooler literally jumped on, kicked her legs up and flew through the air while holding on tight. There are two rock walls and a big rope structure that my daughter kept calling "the giant hammock." A keyboard with notes and a music sheet printed directly on the metal of the playground structure.
The playground has a smaller section that is set apart from the large playground, and covered pavilion that would be good for a birthday party or playdate picnic. And this playground is located right beside Sligo Creek. We ended up spending a good 20 minutes finding rocks and throwing them into the water to see how the splashes would change based on the size.
