Glenfield Local Park is set back on Layhill Road, far enough from the busy street to worry about runaway kids. It is in a shady area and overlooks the back of the Glenmont Metro Station, a great bonus activity for any little train lovers.

The big-kid area of the playground has monkey bars, and a few slides, and a climbing wall and ladder. We loved climbing up the the rock wall and down the ladders. Smaller kids will enjoy the train-shaped slide, box climbing structure, and the dino and motorcycle bouncer riders.

This playground also has a small picnic shelter, a big soccer field, tennis courts and an adult exercise zone. My kid loved the work-out equipment (we called this the grown-up playground), which has a balance beam, pull-up bars, a bench for crunches and more.
