Hillwood Manor Neighborhood Park

This recently renovated playground is tucked back in a neighborhood right on Sligo Creek in Takoma Park. The brand new structures have some exciting attractions that kept my kid entertained for over an hour.
The biggest draw was the extremely tall slide that could only be reached by climbing up a series of ropes. It might be a little daunting for smaller kids, but there are plenty of other play areas to entertain all. In the bigger kid play section there is also a bridge to run across, a smaller but still quite steep slide, several climbing ladders, swings, and more.
In the younger kid area of the park, there are more reasonably sized slides, a climbing tunnel, fake rocks to climb and stumps to hop on. There's also a small sensory structure with a bench and bamboo shapes on the side that has built-in sensory fixtures to twist and spin.
The playground is right beside Sligo Creek and has a basketball court off to one side and a big open field with several picnic tables on the other.
There will be a playground celebration with a dedication, treats and games to officially open the playground on April 1 from 2 to 3:30 PM. RSVP to Melissa.Chotiner@Montgomeryparks.org if you plan to attend.
