You know it's coming: the sweltering hot days of a D.C. area summer will be here all too soon. We've created a list of area public pools and splash pads in and near Takoma Park and Silver Spring so your whole family can keep their cool when the temperature starts to rise.
Montgomery County Public Pools

⏰ May 25 to June 14: Open weekends only noon to 6 pm
Weekends June 15 to August 11: 12 pm to 8 pm
Weekdays June 15 to August 11: 1 pm to 8 pm

🎟️ Walkup daily admission rates for county residents are:
- $7 for adults
- $6 for Seniors 55 and over
- $5 for children 17 and under
Walkup daily admission rates for non-resident guests are:
- $20 per guest
You can also purchase a summer swim pass for a reduced entry fee.

Long Branch Outdoor Pool

The Long Branch pool has a tot area, lap lanes, and diving boards. In 2023, residents living in zip codes 20901, 20903, 20910, and 20912 can visit the Long Branch pool for free. We're checking to see if this is still the case!

The Glenmont pool has several slides, a fountain and sprayers and a kiddie pool.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Outdoor Pool

The Martin Luther King Jr. Outdoor Pool (there is also an indoor facility that is open year-round) has a lazy river, a diving area, and several slides.
Good Hope Sprayground (Updated in 2024)

This small spray ground area outside the Good Hope Recreation Center got a glow up over the winter and now has a new look and enhanced safety.

This splash park is Germantown is worth the drive with an assortment of waterfalls, sprayers, water bucket drops, and slides. There is also a jumping pillow and mini golf on site.

This water park has big slides, splash features and on-site putt-putt golf. It is only open to Gaithersburg residents on the weekends and on holidays. During the week, all Montgomery county residents can visit.
