Our area seems to have a growing number of breweries and beer farms that can be just as much fun for the kids as it is for the grown-ups to visit. Below is a list of some of the ones closest to Silver Spring and Takoma Park that allow kids to come, too.

Breweries and Beer Farms
🍺 Denizens (Silver Spring, MD)
This beer garden in downtown Silver Spring has happy hour and a big patio. Food trucks and in-house menu from All Set.
🍺 Silver Branch (Silver Spring, MD)
Silver Branch has a both an adult-friendly menu that includes their brewed beers and a kid-friendly menu, complete with food options that will appeal to kids, like quesadillas and mac and cheese. They also have some non-alcoholic drink options. There are even board games available to play while you enjoy your time.
🍺 Babycat Brewery (Kensington, MD)
This new brewery in Kensington is already a hit with families. They have snacks on site, frequent food trucks, and the option to order from Dish & Dram, a restaurant down the block.
🍺 Brookeville Beer Farm (Brookeville, MD)
Bring a picnic or order pizza from the restaurant at this Brookeville spot. There is a lot of inside space but a good size lawn for kids to run around in. They have lots of events, including live music, game nights, and a weekly brunch.
🍺 Elder Pine (Gaithersburg, MD)
Drink and hang amongst the tall trees at this Gaithersburg brewery. You can bring your own food or enjoy the on-site food trucks.
🍺 Franklins (Hyattsville, MD)
This restaurant in Hyattsville is "the only combination restaurant, brewery, and toy store in the world." They have a lot of space inside, as well as an outdoors area with a sandpit. There's even a large general store with lots of fun.
🍺 Lone Oak Brewery (Olney, MD)
There is lots of space to run around at the Lone Oak Brewery. They have fire pits and tents to rent.
🍺 Manor Hill Brewing (Ellicott City, MD)
This Howard County farm brewery is another option with lots of space to run around. Bonus is that it is right near Clark's Elioak Farm, so you can plan a fun day for the kids and the adults.
🍺 True Respite (Rockville, MD)
True Respite says that they are "a great spot for well behaved people of all ages." They have frequent events in their parking lot and food truck partnerships.
🍺 Saints Row (Gaithersburg, MD)
This brewery in Gaithersburg has events for the entire family, including workout classes, live concerts, frequent food trucks, and art events for all ages.
🍺 Waredaca Brewing Company (Laytonsville, MD)
Waredaca Brewing Company is located on a horse farm, with plenty of open space and, of course, horses nearby. They have food trucks, music, and even opportunities to pet a pony.
